J.H. Cohn Serves as Official Vote Tabulator for NJ Monthly "Best of New Jersey" Issue

J.H. Cohn was given the opportunity to tabulate the votes for New Jersey Monthly magazine’s 2012 “Best of New Jersey” issue. There were over 7,500 votes received in 80 categories from the online readers’ poll at www.njmonthy.com. These categories ranged from the best cupcakes to the best beaches and were separated into four segments: Food & Drink, Shopping, Health & Beauty, and Recreation/Attractions.
A team of five audit staff, Gianna Fede, David Mermelstein, Logan Schurig, Glenn Yula, and Dan Davitt; and two interns, Joan Yabao and Mike Francavilla, from J.H. Cohn’s Roseland, New Jersey office worked diligently on this project. They were asked to tabulate the winner in each of the 80 categories, plus two runners-up. In the interest of honoring “bests” from throughout the state, the top vote-getters in the north, central, or southern regions were also identified when a representative of any of those regions did not place in the top three. This project was an opportunity for the team to use their knowledge of Excel to sort and filter the data, using pivot tables to analyze the tabulation of top vote-getters.
The results will be posted online at www.njmonthly.com starting March 19th, and will be printed in the April 2012 issue of New Jersey Monthly.
